Design Project Manager [South Africa]


 

Experienced Design Project Manager Required;

Must have 3-5 years’ experience;

Must have solid knowledge of site works and the process of construction;

Project Management:

  • Demonstrate experience in managing interior design projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Ability to create and manage project timelines.

Interior Design Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of interior design principles, materials, and finishes.
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to collaborate with interior designers and architects to translate design concepts into feasible projects.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and contractors.
  • Ability to effectively convey design concepts and project requirements.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Budgeting and Cost Management:

  • Expertise in budget development and management for interior design projects.
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and the ability to identify cost-effective solutions.

Vendor Management:

  • Experience in sourcing and managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to project specifications.

Problem Solving:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during the project.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and adapt to changes in project scope.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Understanding of building codes, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to interior design.
  • Experience navigating and obtaining necessary permits.

Time Management:

  • Excellent time management skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Experience in understanding and meeting client expectations.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership qualities to guide and motivate project teams.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively.

  • Keen attention to detail to ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables.
  • Commitment to delivering projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
