The Reality Lab in Meta is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing design and development to solve complex problems that directly impact final product quality, cost and delivery of Meta AR/VR products. You will define and implement manufacturing process best practices to the design of our products. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners providing early and on-going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacturable from concept to mass production and through the end of life.

FPCA Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Drive flex assembly (FPCA) DFM review, co-work with cross-function team to evaluate and manage manufacturing risk in product earlier stage.
- Partner with EE, PD and Quality teams to identify and resolve flex assembly (FPCA) manufacturing challenges by following best practices and principles.
- Qualify and scale FPCA manufacturing process, set-up high standard and robust manufacture process.
- Lead FPCA manufacturing process trouble shooting. Resolve top issue and improve yield of each NPI build.
- Plan, develop and implement technically complex procedures for FPCA manufacturing process of each NPI Build. (Including post assembly processes such as underfill, encapsulation, conformal/waterproof coating)
- Develop advanced FPCA manufacturing technology and process. Implement new manufacturing technology or materials for high yield and cost effectiveness.
- Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex SMT procedures, testing methods and failure analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or MS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science or equivalent
- 10+ years of Flex DFM and assembly experience, expert level for FPCA/Flex technology
- Added technical knowledge of hot-bar, laser soldering, ACF, reliability, electrical and mechanical design will be an added advantage
- Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
- Ability to communicate effectively in worldwide environment
- New product introduction and manufacturing operations experience required
- Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design
- Altium, Allegro, Valor, NX and JMP experience will be a plus
- Demonstrated capability in statistical methods of data analysis
- Moderate travel within Mainland China with some travel to Asia Pacific region and US
